Welcome to vaCay Redesign
We partnered with our longtime client Cayman Islands Department of Tourism to modernize visitcaymanislands.com with a refreshed brand experience, streamlined navigation, and updated content that better reflects the spirit of the new “Welcome to VaCay” brand.

The Challenge
The Fuseideas team has maintained and hosted the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) website for over a decade, keeping the content fresh and the technology updated and secure.
When the site needed a refresh to match the vibrancy and sophistication of the new Welcome to VaCay brand, our client knew that we were up to the task. The existing site was visually dated and could be challenging to navigate, with an information architecture that made it hard for travelers to understand the three-island experience.
Key pages and widgets were inconsistent in style, the site structure was fragmented, and the CMS components weren’t flexible enough to support modern content needs. CIDOT needed a streamlined, modernized user experience that made exploration intuitive and visually inspiring, without disrupting the existing platform or core functionality.

The Insight
Travelers planning Caribbean vacations expect a seamless blend of inspiration and information. They want a site that feels premium but easy to use, modern but familiar, and visually aligned with the destination’s voice.

The Solution
By applying a cohesive VaCay design system, lightly restructuring the sitemap, and enhancing the most high-impact touchpoints, including navigation, homepage, and core content types, we could dramatically improve usability without a full rebuild.
The solution was clear: small, strategic UX and design upgrades, combined with a flexible, modular content system, would create an experience that feels entirely new while remaining grounded in the existing platform.
